LakshyaOne ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at lakshyaone.com and the LakshyaOne exam-preparation platform (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to run your preparation dashboard:

• Account information — your name, email address, and password (passwords are handled securely by Firebase Authentication; we never see or store them in plain text).
• Study profile — your target exam, exam date, academic stage, target score, and self-reported chapter progress.
• Usage data — tasks, study streaks, mock-test scores, mistake logs, and readiness scores that you create while using the Service.
• Institution data — if you join through a coaching institute, your institution code and batch, so your teachers and admins can see your progress.
• Technical data — basic device and browser information and anonymous analytics that help us keep the Service reliable.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and show your personalised dashboard.
• To generate AI study plans based on the study details you provide.
• To let your institute's teachers and admins view your progress (only if you joined via an institute).
• To improve the Service, fix problems, and keep it secure.
• To contact you about important account or service matters.

3. AI Study Plans

When you generate a study plan, the study details you provide (such as exam, weak chapters, and scores) are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce your plan. We do not send your name, email, or password. We do not use your data to train third-party AI models.

4. How We Store and Protect Your Data

Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore) on secure Google Cloud infrastructure. Access is controlled by security rules so that, in general, you can only access your own data, and institute staff can only access their own students' data. We use HTTPS everywhere and additional abuse-protection measures.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

• Service providers that run the Service for us (Google Firebase for hosting/database/auth; Anthropic for AI plan generation).
• Your institute — if you signed up through one, its authorised teachers and admins.
• Authorities, only where required by law.

6. Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain some information to meet legal obligations.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law (including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@lakshyaone.com.

8. Children's Privacy

LakshyaOne is intended for exam aspirants, many of whom are under 18. If you are under 18, you should use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. We collect only the information needed to provide the study tools described above. A parent or guardian may contact us at support@lakshyaone.com to review, correct, or delete their child's data, or to withdraw consent. If you believe we have collected data from a child without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will address it promptly.

9. Cookies and Local Storage

We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We do not use advertising cookies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the Service.
